M52 in ISSF

Post by Mike T. »

A factor to be borne in mind when considering the S&W Model 52 for use in ISSF 25 m Center Fire Pistol is that, as delivered, the 52 has a trigger pull that is less than the minimum required 1360 grams - being closer to 1134 grams. S&W did offer a "heavier" (stiffer) sear spring that brought the trigger weight above 1360 grams, but the last I checked, they no longer had any available. Presumably, a spring could be fabricated. Additionally, it has been suggested to me that a stiffer drawbar plunger spring might provide an increase in trigger let off weight.

Irod,

The M52 you speak of is an excellent gun for the ISSF center fire match. However, it is a very difficult gun to shoot well. Another disadvantage is that parts are very difficult to find and very expensive.
