lighting conditions and rearsight position

Post by Albert B »

Recently we held a experiment involving the distance of the rear (peep)sight to the aiming eye under different lighting situations on an indoor shooting range - brightly lit shooting bay and target; brightly lit shooting bay and badly lit target; badly lit shooting bay and target etc.
Has anyone done the same or does someone has info on the subject. In our experiment we came to very remarkable conclusions. I want to cross-check my results with those of others before I make any statements.
Thanks.

Hi Albert,

I am interested in the reqults of you tests. I am a UK based shooter and as such shoot indoors during the week. Your conclusions could be very useful

Hello guest,
Although the experiment is still in progress (in the coming month we will continue with fase 2) the results so far are very interesting. A prelimanary article wil be placed in the winter issue of the intern. trainers magazine published by Don Williams (USA)- for his adress see the message above in this thread.
If you give an email adress I can send you a pdf of the results so far.

It would be nice if more people could duplicate the tests to see if they come to the same results....
Can you describe the conditions you guys shoot indoor smallbore rifle?
Many years ago my brother lived in the UK (Broughton - Lake District) and was a member of a local shooting club.
