Spirit level on front sight

Post by Swanie »

Does anybody know if it is legal to use or compete with a spirit level on the front sight of a precision air rifle, I can not find anything in the rules on this?

I don't have a rulebook in front of me to give you the ref, but air rifles cannot have spirit levels anywhere.

Here you go. From the 2005 ISSF Rule Book

7.4.3.2 A thumb hole, thumb rest, palm rest, heel rest and spirit level are prohibited. If a stock is less than the maximum allowed in
any dimension, it may be brought up to the measurements
shown in the Rifle Measurement Table. Any addition must be
within the permitted dimensions and in no case may the pistol
grip or the lower part of the stock be anatomically formed.

Its kind of in a funny place they are talking about rifle stocks and then they through in the spirit level which really doesn't have anyhthing to do with what they are talking about.
