The sights rather depend upon the rifle. Most new or used small-bore target rifles will come with a proprietary sights; Anschutz rifles come with Anschutz, Walther with Walther sights, etc. So most beginners will use whatever is already on their rifle. However Anschutz, Gehmann, and Hammerli amongst others will sell sights seperately from rifles which are very popular alternatives.
Did you mean instead what was a good make of sights to fit to a rifle not normally equipped with an aperture rearsight? Anschutz rearsights can be commonly found second-hand on e-bay and will fit an 11mm dovetail on the receiver.
There are also various makes of receiver-mounted peep sights for sporting rifles, that are rather less bulky than the German style dioptres seen on full-on target rifles.
