Top rifle choice

Hi,what would be your choice between the following models for 10m matches?Why?
fwb p700,steyer lg110,anschutz9003,waltherlg300alutec.
Please don't tell me the usual"whatever feels better for me" cause i've heared of that before...If you've shot them you know why one of them was realy better......Thank you for your time:)

If one was really better for all people then that would be the only one you would see on the firing point at World Cups (and above). Funnily enough you see (a lot) more than one model / manufacturer. Do you think that could mean that what suits one person doesn't suit another?

Look at the air rifles that have performed well, there was a a thread here not too long ago that traced the rifles that had won the most Olympic and WC matches. Give time to testing which match pellet works best in your rifle, and be happy. Don't worry too much about getting the newest alum. frame. True there is an infinite amount of adjustability but this seems best used by clubs where several shooters might use the same rifle. Most modern air rifles are "Olympic quality" and will work well for you. Pick one you like.

Of the models you describe , you woulds be hard put to find a bad shooter . The FWB seems to be the piece de 'jour among rifle shooter . ( This may have to do with the fact that FWB reputedly gives guns to top shooters . )Some favor Anchutz , due to their ability to service at top match venues . I choose a Styer LG110 , A) I like their pistols , B) I enjoy a good relationship with the dealer . If Scott P. is impressed with them from a gunsmithing point of view , thats good enuff for me . This rifle will far exceed my abilities that it isn't even funny . As a bonus , it would be nice if Styer was to come under the Anschutz service umbrella , now that the two companies are linked .

Now and again, we got people asking " what is the best rifle/pistol/ammo etc..." a lot of these subject has been diccussed many many times, I'll like to add my input to it.

I own 3 Anschutz target rifles, like the old 1413 with stainless steel barrel best, not because it shot much better than the others, they're all very accurate, some how the 1413 just feel better, I suppose that is a matter of personal taste.

The world of shooting sport is full of stories about whats his/her name arrived at Olympic/World Championship/Pan Am Game etc... only to find thier guns were lost/stolen/broken... so him/her hastily borrow some one elses gun and went on to win the Champioship, I know one shooter shot with cracked stock and made it to the final, too bad she didn't win, it'll be a great story.

Why do these shooters can perform so well even without thier best equipments? Think about that for a while, I'm sure we all know the answer, certainly equipment is not the whole story. We all knew someone in our club shot with less than ideal equipment and yet beat the crap out of every body.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying you should not buy the best, its how to get the best out of whats in your hand matters, good equipment can only take you so far, training, talent and whats between your ears make up the rest.

Someone once said to me " I just want to know what I own is the best money can buy" or words to that effect, I reply"save your money and buy a flashy sport car, you're in the wrong sport".

This is the link mentioned above....personally i believe that the best shooters in the world could win and shoot well with any brand that they chose, but they reasons why they prefer a certain brand are their own and vary from the "feel", availability of service, recomendations of others etc... no one rifle is the best, but there must be a reason so many of the good shooters choose feinwerkbau...

I've shot the P700, the LG110, the 9003 and the LG300.
I'd choose the Anschutz 2002CA. Why? Because it feels better for me :D
They're all excellent air rifles and all of them are very capable of outshooting me on my best day. I just don't like them so much to shoot with. The P900 stock doesn't suit my shoulder and I keep worrying about the inbuilt raiser blocks slipping (they won't, but I fret unnecessarily anyway and it affects how I shoot); the LG110 is a wonderfully dead rifle but it feels a bit small for me; the 9003, like the P900, didn't sit right on my shoulder; and the LG300 just looked ugly to me (despite it's really useful dryfire/livefire switch).

People keep saying "try before you buy" for a good reason!
