Action

7.2.5.1 While the shooter is on the firing point, the rifle must always be pointed in a safe direction. Even if the rifle has a magazine, only one cartridge may be loaded. When not actually firing, all rifles must be unloaded and the bolt or action must be open. The action, breech or loading device must not be closed until the rifle is pointing down range in a safe direction toward the target / butt stop area.
And for air rifle,
7.4.3.5.2 The rifle may only be loaded with one (1) pellet.

True enough spencer. So long as you only load the one round each time, I'd guess you could use any action you wanted (so long as it was safe, of course). Mind you, given the realities of gunsmithing, it's unlikely that you'd get a more accurate semi-auto action than a bolt-action or falling-block or other purpose-built single-shot action. It's kindof like the way that technically, you could shoot an air rifle in the 300m event; it's just that we've not seen air rifles that powerful since Lewis&Clarke, so it's a rule that's never had a test in that direction!Spencer C wrote:Whoa!
The original question was 'Are there any rules of what kind of action can be on your rifle? Semi or Single?', not how those actions are used.
Surely, the quoted rule numbers only relate to how many cartridges / pellets may be loaded, not the type of action of the rifle.
