FWB P40 to buy new or 2nd hand?

Post by Weekend Shooter »

Your thoughts. The difference is about $200. The seller claims to have shot a tin or two. Grips are pretty clean. The seller is reputable. No way of knowing though if it is 3rd hand (4th hand, etc.).

I figure that a tin or two is hardly a broken in gun - which wouldn't be a bad idea since it saves me the trouble of doing the breaking in myself.

Then again, nobody has hired somebody to walk in a pair of new cowboy boots to break 'em in...

But yes, I've bought a second hand car and was happy.

Guys, this is an existential and emotional problem. If you had the spare cash, would you?

Thanks..

The P40 goes for $1815 at Pilkguns, so you're saying $1600? For that kind of money I would go with a new gun and have the assurance of great dealer support, and no questions about inheriting some one else's troubles. The break point in my mind would be closer to $1300. Besides, I think the P40 is overpriced; for $1400 you can get a new Steyr LP10.
BTW, I don't think breaking in one of these AP's is an issue.
