Problems with Steyr LG100

Post by Alec »

Greetings,

I have recently purchased a Steyr LG100 and within 100 shots have developed a serious problem. I can no longer get the rifle to load properly. When pulling back the cocking level it no longer engages the trigger. I have tried emptying the air reservoir and recharging it. When connecting the reservoir the gun charges with air, yet not amount of playing around with the lever gets the trigger to engage.

Has anybody heard of something like this similar happening, and any ideas on how to fix this problem? My steyr dealer is some distance away and making a visit is at best problematic for me.

Have you made any trigger adjustments?

It's very simple to take the rifle apart and check the trigger mechanism.
Take off the stock, then take off the trigger guard [small allen screw underneath]
A little juggling is required to remove the trigger guard.
Now have a look at the functioning of your trigger as you cock the rifle...something must be amiss, perhaps one of the adjustments [sear] have come loose.

Let me know or PM me if you need further assistance

steyr LG100 trigger function

Thanks for the replies,

I have had a look at the trigger mechanism and it appears that the sear is no longer engaging. I have not made any changes at all to the trigger, or anything else for that matter on the rifle, and as it happens, I will be able to travel to my nearest dealer tomorrow, so will leave well enough alone for now. Very impressive the construction of the LG100! I hope by end of play tomorrow I can get back to training.
