IZH-35 Grip Question

Post by Luftrick »

Does anybody know if the Walther KSP grip fits the IZH-35? I saw a picture of a customized 35 at some website that sells triggers and weights and other parts (http://user.mc.net/~drweber/newizh-1.gif) and it is clearly a Walther grip and looks quite like a KSP200 grip to me.

Thanks,

Patrick

IZH Grips

They should fit, since the Walther KSP200 is simply the IZH35 'tuned up' by Walther and sold under their label. BTW, the site you mention does a really nice job with the extra weights and slide latch. I have one of the latter on my IZH35. Another source of grips is Arnie Vitarbo. I have a a medium Morini on mine and like it a lot.

DJ Precision...

I just wanted to second the opinion that DJ precision does good work and provides good service. I have the hex screws, a shroud weight and the slide stop with no complaints in over 2 years.

The KSP grip does fit on the IZH, but requires changing the side button-type mag release to a bottom mounted catch like the IJ-35 and the KSP have.

It's required because the grip is 1-piece and slides on.

DJ Precision has the bottom release available. The new address is http://www.djprecision.com/.

That's good to hear that they make quality stuff. I am looking at picking up a few of their trick bits, like the trigger and the mag release, etc. I have been able to shoot as high as a 883 (Gallery Pistol) with my old clunker High Standard Sharpshooter, but it weighs a ton, the old Aimpoint 2000 is not up to snuff with the much lighter and better UltraDot and the trigger and grips are both non-adjustable so I am looking to eek out a few more points by going with the better ergonomics and characteristics of the Baikal. I'll most likely shoot it as is for the rest of the league season, then trick it out during the summer when I am not using it so much.

You will be very pleased with the DJ Precision products.

Last I checked, it was getting difficult to find the Walther grips for the KSP. From the sound of it the KSP has been discontinued. Morini IJ-35 grips will fit also, but you will either have to drill a hole for the mag release (a real pain) or get the bottom mag release also. Arnie Vitarbo makes custom grips for the gun also, they are decent and priced right, but are not adjustable.

I can ask around to find out where to look for Walther grips if you haven't had any luck.
