AP matches in MA

Where in MA are you? There are AP matches in Manchester and Meriden CT which would be OK if you are in Western MA.

The Braintree Club holds a monthly PTO. I am going to the March and April matches and maybe the May match as well if I can swing it.

Upcoming Air Pistol Matches:
March 6, 2005 Air Pistol PTO - 600
April 3, 2005 Air Pistol PTO - 600
May 1, 2005 Air Pistol PTO - 600

The website for squadding and info is: http://brpsquadding.tripod.com/

I left Massachusetts in 2002 for the great free state of Washington, but when I still lived there, I used to shoot AP matches at the Woburn Sportsmen's Association. They had a really nice range and they were very active in AP. According to their webpage at http://members.aol.com/wsa1933/pistol.htm, they're still active.

Also, the Riverside Gun Club in Hudson was just building their AP range when I left. Their webpage at http://www.riversidegc.org/Clubhouse/clubhouse.htm mentions the existence of it but doesn't say if they're yet running any formal matches. (Riverside was "home" club; they were very active in .22 NM and high power rifle competition and in running NRA training. I really liked that club; I found them really, really friendly.)

Finally, as others have mentioned, there are AP matches in NH, but I always found them a bit of a trek from the MetroWest area where I was living.

informal AP league on the SE coast of mass

Post by Tom »

Hi,

If your anywhere near the Fall River New Bedford area, Marty runs a informal AP league on Friday nights at the New Bedford Rod and Gun Club on Reed road. About the only "standard" that's standard there is the 10M distance. They are geared to bringing in new and junior shooters so it's a very family friendly/safe environment.

They also have a small bore range there and after the AP "match" is over, they open up the SB side.

Hope it helps,

Tom

Clint: Both Braintree and Woburn run monthly USA Shooting AP matches. You would be welcome. The shooters are very nice and the matches are run very well. Sharon Ma. runs a monthly FP>STD>CF match which was today for the Jan. match. All the matches are listed in USA Shooting or on their website. If I can be of any help just shout- Greg Derr
