Blieker ???

Post by ghillieman »

Does anyone have any experience with the Blieker .22 rifles. How do they compair to the anschutz's or any top line .22. I am talking position shooting. Would like to know about build quality and accuracy compaired to say a 2013. Would the price of a Blieker really justify buying one and is it really that better built, anyone have any opinions or first hand experience I would really like to know your 2 cents. Thanks.

I think everyone is waiting for someone to come along who can afford one and then give a report on it after you've tried it out. At least then we'll know what we are missing- still won't be able to afford it.

Bleiker

Most of the better smallbore rifle shooters over here (switzerland) have bleiker rifles. They are certainly very high standard and compared to the mass produced Anschütz etc the higher quality is obvious.
As to do they shoot better, that's difficult to tell. But everybody that I know with a bleiker says it is amazingly easy to find ammunition for the rifle that it really likes. That means that the extensive ammo testing that needs to be done with other rifles is basically eliminated, it's more a case of buy 3 or 4 different boxes of your favourite brand and one of them will be good enough. As to cost, I'll tell you my story: I only started smallbore last year. I've been shooting 300 metre Standard Rifle ( I have a Grünig and Elmiger) for a few years and decided to try 50m 3P. After trying lots of different rifles and talking to a lot of different good club and county level shooters, including an ex European champion I decided to buy brand new from a dealer an Anschütz 2013-690 Supermatch complete with 20 click diopter and 10.2mm test target for exactly 400 swiss francs LESS than the cost of a bleiker barrelled action (i.e: no stock) I,m probably lucky, I enjoy ammo testing and can't YET justify to my self (or my wife) spending the extra money just to (theoretically) be able to shoot a 10.6 instead of a 10.4.

I Hope my in-put has been of some use, it's saturday morning over here and I'm desperate to get to the range and wear out my anschütz action so I can tell my wife I have to buy a new one. And that next one will in all honesty probably be a bleiker.

Rgrds from Switzerland, Jonno.
