Stand for motorized target systems

Post by jabberwo »

Hi,

We started a jr air rifle and pistol program at our club last fall. Have 4 going to the Jr Olympics this Saturday! Unfortunately most don't have experience with the motorized target systems like:

We got one donated that we can at least show them. But, we would like to set it up. Problem is the shooters have to stand at the 50' line (rules and lighting). So I need to build a target stand that we can carry/wheel in to place when needed 10m down range. But the force the target system wires stretching from the shooting bench is going to be very hard to counterbalance. I can build just about anything from wood or angle iron. But I'm lacking the light-bulb moment of what a good solid design would look like. The only two places near me that I have seen motorized targets, they are attached to the wall.

Looking for photos of anyone's successful designs! Google didn't find a single one.

Thanks,
Chuck

Our club has benches that the return system hooks onto. 10m down range is a flange bolted to the floor. A 1" square piece of steel tubing fits into the flange. It's about 4foot high. On the bottom of the target holder there is some system that hooks into the tubing.
