The term "Flow State" has come to my attention. A very large and interesting amount of information is available
about this subject, lots on youtoob.
Back when I was in my twenties, after a year or two of dedicated practice, I discovered this
relaxed state of mind, and could enter it in an instant, just pick up the rifle and start shooting.
Presently after close to 3 years of practice, I enter this state starting at 30 to 35 minutes and am totally immersed in it at 40 to 45 minutes.
Then I shoot an additional 45 minutes. My present goal is to enter this state more quickly.
Steve Kotler is presently leading this research, as far as I know. But this state of mind has been known and studied since late 1800's.
The vids on youtube surprisingly actually relate this to a shooting topic in direct application to the military using it to get potential shooters up to speed in a faster manner.
They are also mapping brain waves EEG electroencephalograph of advanced years of practice individuals, and remapping with magnetic emitter style waves,.., to new candidates,
this is also being done with air traffic controllers before their shifts, to enhance their performance.
Definitely worth searching and finding. I will post my links here soon. here is one, at 4:00 min speaks of marksmen.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aHp2hkue8RQ

the Theta waves seem to be what I speak of, everything slows down, and the sight picture is lock on solid, however the mind is more difficult to control,
it is slower and all events need to be done with concentrated thought, which is also slower, so need to be very careful with every decision and sequence of events.
