Hello All,
I currently practice precision 10m 3 position air rifle using an Anschutz 2002ca. I love the rifle, but find the stock rather limiting as I describe here:
viewtopic.php?p=336367#p336367
With no good upgrade path for the 2002, I'm thinking about a new(er) precision PCP specifically designed for 3PAR.
Some info and criteria:
-I'm 6'2" 150 lbs, so tall and a bit skinny. I wear a size 38 shooting jacket.
-I practice prone, standing, kneeling and sitting (sitting is practice for XTC)
-I wear heavy correction glasses so repeatable cheek piece placement/adjustability for proper head alignment is especially important for me
-I would like stock adjustments to be tool less and not use shims
-I am more than happy with (and actually prefer due to $$) a used rifle
-config must be issf 10m 3par legal
-Currently with the 2002ca I am in the low to mid 280s for 10 shots prone/offhand/kneeling on an AR-5/10 target
With that in mind, what models/stock options should I consider or avoid? Since I'd prefer to get a used rifle, it is especially unclear to me which older models to keep an eye out for.
At age 43 I'm not going to the Olympics, but I enjoy 3PAR and take it rather seriously. Not looking to upgrade "because it's shiny and new", but because it provides a real benefit for 3 position.
Thank you!
Joe

Edit: I read your other posts, I stand corrected.

Re: Recommended Rifles for Adult 3PAR
Didn't Anschutz make a 2002 alu?
Re: Recommended Rifles for Adult 3PAR
Unfortunately the 2002 aluminum stock is not issf legal anymore...

Re: Recommended Rifles for Adult 3PAR
I would be amenable to modification of my laminate stock for better adjustability as i ask about here as option #1:

...however I'd like input from someone who went down this path so I can confirm parts and pros/cons

Re: Recommended Rifles for Adult 3PAR
Looking through present and some past offerings I see the following stocks:
Anschutz 9015 one
Anschutz 9015 one basic
Anschutz 9015 alum
Anschutz 9015 club
Anschutz 8002 s2 alu
Walther Lg300 alutec
Walther Lg300 Anatomic
Walther Lg400 alutec
Walther Lg400 Universal
Walther Lg400 Aluminum Competition
Walther Lg400 Blacktec
...and of course a lot of offerings from FWB and Pardini (I am less familiar with these manufacturers)
For adult 3 PAR, are any of these models limiting or to be avoided?
It is also unclear what a 9015 One or Lg400 Anatomic really get you over the lower end models. Like I said earlier - I am not going to the Olympics, but want something I can practice with multiple times a week without notable compromises.
Thank you for any input or experience in this area.
