FWB P44 grips

Post by Mmcavoy6 »

I have a P44 I purchased used with a medium grip. It is a little big but I have been able to use it fairly well. I also picked up a Styer LP10 also with a medium grip. The Styer fits a lot better than the P44 even though the grips are the same “stated” size. Champion choice has a small FWB grip listed for the newer 8x my question is will the 8x grip fit the P44?

Thanks
Mike

The P8X grip will not fit your P44. If you are looking for a grip replacement, I recommend you contact a local retailer to confirm but I believe the P11 grip would be compatible as its essentially a simplified P44.

Another note, FWB grips are generally one size larger than other brands, so your observation on the fitment difference between your Steyr and FWB is accurate.

From Rink's web site, it looks like the P44 grip is unique, and no other pistols' grip will fit:

It's worth noting that the reason Rink distinguishes between the p11 and p44 grip, is because the latter's original grip will only fit on the former if you also add a sight extension, which Rink's version does not require (Rink's P11 top looks "shaved off"). The mounting schematic is otherwise identical - viewtopic.php?p=196039

You might try Neal Stepp for P44 grips (call, not email). Don't know if he stocks them but he does carry lots of parts
