ISSF Secretary General chased away with immediate effect

Post by Alexander »

Yesterday, the ISSF headquarters were harbinger of a piece of important news. I leave it for general discussion whether this is a good Christmas tiding.

The Great and Anointed Leader, in presence and with assent of his Grandes, has decreed the contract of the Secretary General - Willi Grill had allied with Rossi before the election, and had subsequently replaced Eugen Ratner - as dissolved with legal effect (labour law) to 31st March 2024, and also dismissed him from any work with immediate effect.
The Big Boss announced that he will fulfill himself this role ad interim.
"Grande è il Presidente !"

Without a doubt!

Spencer will figure it out, though.

Not concerned until tanks start rolling across the border.

Hmm, quite shocking. I wonder if anything changes with regards to the sport though (ie changes in match formats and/or Olympic disciplines).

Now, apparently, this alliance is over. When a similar crisis happens in everyday political life, the leader of the broken coalition normally resigns and the new leader, supported by the community, is elected.
Reads like something from the desk of the (jilted) Mr Ratner *strokes chin*. It's a very strange observation for the author to make given that in every day political life, Presidents and Prime Ministers routinely reshuffle their cabinets and ministers without themselves resigning.

No, the rulebook is the rulebook. Changes to the SG or Presidency don't affect that - although of course a new SG might press for changes to the rules or formats. It is nice at the moment actually having a stable set of formats that don't change every 6 months. Athletes know whether they're coming or going.
