Pistol maximum dimensions: rules exploit?

I have a question regarding the ISSF and CMP rules for 10m pistol.

Both rulesets specify the size box in which air pistols must fit in order to be legal for the event (420mm x 200mm x 50mm), but none of the rulesets say exactly when the pistols must meet this requirement. I would assume that guns must fit in that box during trigger weigh-in and whenever they check guns for safety or rules compliance. But, for example, most single-pump pneumatics like the IZH-46M clearly would not fit in this box during actuation. And my understanding is that the IZH-46M is legal for competition. So, when is the size limit applied?

Could a gun theoretically meet the size limit during trigger weight checking and then unfold to add projections during the match that would otherwise not fit inside the box? No one uses single pump pistols in high level competition.
Even if someone did, the pistol would be measured in the state that it is when it's fired.
And those type of pistols don't have much wiggle room in terms of weight, since they are a little heavier than the PCP ones.

So, to answer you question, no.

Most would agree that the pistol should be in it's ready to fire state, as
it would be on the firing line.
A pump gun will not fit in a open state, also it will not fire in that open state.
Any added weight bars would have to fit the box.
