Walthers - GSP ,GSP C, and OSP, - & R/F ammo

Here in Oz there are new laws for pistol shooters. The new barrel lengths which are permitted must have a minimum length of 120mm.
I wonder if anyone has tried to fit a barrel of this length onto these pistol, and trimmed away the grip, so it still fits into the ISSF rules.
Regarding Long rifle ammo, which we tested, here, for the new R/F rules - we tested about 20 brands that are available in Melbourne, but only one of them came close to the new speed requirements!
Has anyone else tested their ammo? - or tried to shoot R/F with a standard pistol?

The original barrel on the Walther IS LEGAL as it is a specialised pistol. There is NO need to alter the barrel length.
As for shooting the R/F match with a std pistol, most shooters seem to have there first shoot [and many more] of this match with a std pistol, before they purchase a R/F pistol for this event.
At our small country club, more members use a std pistol than a R/F pistol for the R/F event so the changes won't affect these shooters

1/The Walther is legal in OZ, as a specalized target pistol.
2/Rapidfire ammo testing and the results were completed in November 03 and the results passed on to the ISSF for comment and clarification.
No response has come from them so far, but I believe both Aust and New Zealand are chasing it up.
3/ I have started pistol and ammo testing, shooting rapid with a Std pistol (about 20 points down against .22 short). Further development will depend on the ISSF response for the velocity rule,as it will affect some ideas I want to try.

My question regarding RF with .22lr is ---What are their ( I.E.YOUR CLUB SHOOTERS) scores in the 4 sec. phase??? When I tried to use my Pardini SP or MG-2 for RF---I did OK in the 8 & 6 sec. phases---but the 4 sec was a disaster---in comparison to my Schumann. Both guns have a good recoil tolerance and point beautifully but they still move a hell of a lot more than the Schumann.Also you cannot compare the triggers with 2.5 lbs to 80 grams. I think we have to wait and see what the BIG KAHUNA'S do after the 2004 Olympic fiasco. It should be interesting to see the manuvering, wheeling and dealing and either the total lack of suitable firearms or the glut of evry inventive mind. I want to see what IZH comes up with as they are always a mystery.

"Total lack of suitable firearms?" What's the big deal? Everyone will be using the same equipment and will face the same challenges and reduced scores. So we won't see scores in the 590s (immediately); who cares?
