Butt-Plate Hook

Post by GolfShot »

Im having a hard time trying to figure out if there is any limit on how thick the hook on a butt-plate can be. I want to make my hook thicker but unsure as to the limits within the rules.

I did notice that Torben Grimmel has used tape to thicken his, so it is legal but to what extent?

Cheers

From memory there are limits on the length (direct and in the curve) of the hook and any sideways projection, but none on the thickness.

I aways thought their was an limit on sideways projection as-well but I noticed some shooting have their hook offset to the side in extreme amounts.

There may have been a limit in the past, but 7.4.5.1 only limits the length/vertical curvature of the hook. Under ISSF rules the hook can be as thick as you like. However tape might attract unwanted attention, if not falling foul of 7.4.5.d and 7.4.5.1.e which prohibit taped weights and laterally projection projection weights.
