Managed to exert a bit more discipline in my shooting this eve and made some improvement over my previous pb. Looking back I think this is my first session at the range where everything hit the black. Next goal, keep it all within the 8 ring!

Progress is slow but sure. The Rink grip definitely helps. As for the shoes - I'll reserve judgement until I get to a place where they may actually make a difference. The only thing I don't like about the shoes is the cold from the concrete floor (at the range) comes right up through them ! Brrrr.....

This session was bizarre combination of new weapon, lack of training and sleep deprivation (had our newborn earlier in the month). Couldn't hold it inside 8-ring for the first round! So quite below my old training scores but perhaps not as bad as it could be.

I'm pretty happy with those results under a little competitive pressure, although I blew my last target. Oh well. I've been trying to drill good trigger presses and follow-through in the past month to varied success, but my match was pretty good in that regard (until the last target).

I'm attaching my targets since I was at the range and didn't use my usual scoring app.

EDIT: Can only post 5, apparently. Anyway, the last one was ugly.

How can you count the score from that perfect first card?
For the internal leage we have to shoot max 5 on a card .. and during a match it's even only 2 shots on every card.

Great Score btw .... You would be a topshooter in my country. We only have 4 shooters above 560 at the moment (although not many matches are calculated yet).

The guy that runs the local league likes us to keep to 10 shots per target... it's a pretty small operation and there's not a lot of reason to go to fewer shots. Also it's pretty rare that I manage a group like that. The target after I dropped two 8s, so yeah.

And thanks! I've been going to the local league to try and get used to competitive pressure. I'm on the West Coast of the US and there aren't any big matches near me at the moment, but I'm planning on going to one or two in the New Year. We'll see if I can keep a good pace under real pressure.

I started matches in okt. So 2 months in .... I have had 3 ranked matches, and saturday I have my 6th match (not all are ranked).
You will lose a couple off points when it's a match. Atleast I do. 498 ranked PB. 508 unranked PB. 524 practise PB.

This year i do most for learning as every range is different. And as a newbe I have to start in the highest class (this had to do with Covid .. as my KNSA/ISSF number is already a year old i'm official not a new shooter, just an unranked shooter). So no prices for me this year but good to practise.

There are many matches here within a 45 min drive. Happy with that .. but we are a small country :D. I can do a match almost every weekend if i'm willing to drive 90 min. But I keep it within 45.
