I am very sad to post the following from David's brother.

David was one of the guys who helped get targettalk up and running when the original Scoreboard forum went down

It is with great sadness that I let all David's friends know that my baby brother passed away peacefully today. As many of you know, David has had many health issues over the last few years, but bore them all bravely and positively, until they finally overwhelmed him. He was a wonderful, optimistic man who I was proud to call my brother, and he will be terribly missed. David made all his final plans several years ago, and they included no services. However, please feel free to post any memories that you would like to share of him.

I never met David, but I was the grateful recipient of plenty of his knowledge and advice here in TargetTalk. He will be missed greatly.

I enjoyed reading his knowledgeable posts. He was very well versed in this sport and had a detailed mindset. He was able to answer obscure questions with first hand knowledge.

My condolences as well. I respected him greatly. When I finally, in my 60s, acquired a couple of FAS Domino pistols I turned to him and he graciously led me through the maintenance and trigger setting rituals. Very thankful and I have passed his insights along to other FAS users in Canada . He will definitely be missed.

Those are very sad news.
My deepest condolences to his family and friends.
Like others here, I only knew him from his generous sharing of knowledge, and for all those advice, I thank him.
He was one of the persons here that helped me get better at this sport, all in a very unselfish way.
Hope his family and friends find some comfort in these words, as I could not think of a better way to say thank you.

Sad day

It is with great sadness that we give you the news that David Levene, a committee and long-standing member of the British Pistol Club, died on Monday 1st November.

David was an incredibly talented world-class pistol shooter, who excelled at Centre Fire and Standard Pistol. During the 1980s and 1990s, he competed at World, European and Commonwealth level. Amongst many outstanding achievements, David was a member of the GBR 25m Standard Pistol (.22) team who broke the British Record, which still stands today. Along with this, he came 4th in the Centrefire match with a score of 590, with the top 3 shooters finishing all with 591 at the 1985 European Championships in Osijek, YUG. David also won the Bologna Trophy, the challenge trophy attached to the British 25m Standard Pistol Championship, three times - in 1984, 1990 and 1997.

Following his international career, David volunteered much of his time to the pistol community including officiating at the Manchester and Glasgow Commonwealth Games, as well as the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games. He had an encyclopaedic knowledge of the ISSF rules and what David didn’t know about the ISSF rules could be written on the back of a postage stamp! He shared this knowledge widely and helped to develop others, athletes, coaches and range officers alike.

David committed a vast amount of his time to the club through his position on the committee to running ranges at our club competitions. Both his knowledge and the support he gave to the British Pistol Club will be sorely missed by us all.

CF 590 Is a pretty good score, done with a FAS would be my guess.
