Compensator on IZH-46

Post by Val »

Is it possible to fit a Nygord comp on IZH-46?
If yes, does it have any positive effect and to what extent?

I have emailed Don a couple of years ago when i got my izzy. his response was that the izzy does not have the power to work with a compensator (the plain non-M version) as the air expelled is little. Also when i chronographed my IZH-46 i found it at 120meter/second, a value i think its quite low. Finally the izzy is quite front heavy and with the reduced muzzle velocity should produce results near recoilless. When i upgraded to LP10 i was amazed to find that it wasnt that big diference i thought it would be in terms of recoil. (although it has a difference)
Happy shooting

Why bother

It has no recoil at all.

It certainly does have recoil, I can feel it in every shot. But not anything so great that it cannot be absorbed by a normal grip. And I agree a compensator is not necessary.

Physics shows that any action has an equal and opposite reaction. air guns have relatively little recoil especially if you are used to center fire guns but it does exist even with the super compensated guns, it simply has to. : It has no recoil at all.
