Front adjustable aperture how to install

Post by Kimie »

I purchased a new front adjustable gerhman aperture from neil johnsons, the only way it would fit on my fwb p-70 was to remove the plastic one in the sight it self.Is the right way to install it is to use the existing two parts from the from sight, and screw the front aperture into the existing fwb orginal parts. The breakdown was to screw the adjustable iris back into the orginal part off of the fwb rear and the front maginerfier into the orginal fwb and it all fit is this the right setup to do thanks.

Kimie:
On the FWB front sight, there are two identical "caps"; one at either end of the front sight tunnel. The "cap" at the front of the tunnel should be left in place. The second "cap"; at the rear of the front sight tunnel, retains the factory front sight insert and should be unscrewed and set aside. The factory front sight insert, of course, should also be removed and set aside.
At this point, you may screw your adjustable front aperture unit in place. If yours has crossbars (for canting reference), you can set them to indicate a true level condition; or they can be canted to appear horizontal when you are in position.
You mentioned something about a magnifier. If you are using a magnifier lens in your front sight, remember that is illegal in ISSF (and NRA metallic sight) competitions.
