Blaser 300M Rifles

Post by lyoke2 »

Does anyone have any experience with Blaser 300M UIT or CISM rifles? It is on the R93 platform. Looking at the 7.5 x 55 model.

I have the technical data but very little user experience.

No first hand experience, but a 7X55 doesn’t sound fun for 300m.

Depending on your SB stock, I would get a action block that would fit a r700, bat, or whatever action you prefer and just run a CF action in your SB stock.

Bleiker or G&E seem to be the 300m leaders.

Thanks for the note,

I am working on CF action in the SB stock at the moment. This is more on the fun side. I do think the 7.5x55 may take some of the fun out of it.

I got a Bleiker action a couple years ago from Neal Stepp. I had Alan put a barrel on it and Carl Bernosky do a stock based on a modified Cloward stock, that was bedded to allow the action to be set towards the butt. That allows me to load with out removing the stock from my shoulder.

With a 6BR barrel, it is fun to shoot. At 300m I use a Spy sight and a Riles 22mm front. At 600 I put a Warner rear with the same front sight.

The trigger is as good as they can get.

Not a Blaser, but inline with your stated mission...

Whidden Gunworks has a Blieker 6mm BR 300m rifle available.

I looked at that same rifle on GB.

I previously owned several K31's chambered in 7.5x55. You are correct in that it would 'take some of the fun out' of shooting it. Component availability would be my most serious concern right now.
