2021 Intercollegiate Club Rifle Championships
ASSA is pleased to announce that the 2021 Intercollegiate Rifle Club Championships will be held April 10-11, 2021 at the X-Count facility located in Fort Wayne, Indiana.
The championships will consist of both individual and team events consisting of smallbore 3-position and precision air rifle fired on the state of the art X-Count indoor range. The match will be open to all collegiate athletes and teams representing any junior college, college or university un-der the rules of their institution. Details on eligibility are included in the match program, which will be available in the next few days.
The Intercollegiate Rifle Club Championships are an excellent showcase of collegiate student athletes who have represented their school’s club in smallbore 3-position and/or precision air rifle events.
ASSA is proud to be the governing body for the 2021 Intercollegiate Rifle Club Championships and we are looking forward to working with the X-Count organization to ensure these shooting athletes are able to showcase their skills at a national championship level.
Additional announcements and the formal match program will be forthcoming in the next few days. Registration and information details are located at www.americansmallbore.com.
The American Smallbore Shooting Association was established in 2016 to promote, protect and sustain the sport of conventional smallbore rifle competitive target shooting in the United States of America.
The X Count offers a wide variety of programs to promote the safe use of firearms. We currently offer high school and club team participation, a league for disabled veterans, Boy Scout Merit Badge Clinics, an American Heritage Girls Badge Program, Eddie Eagle Workshops, and community outreach to help the public better understand the safe use of firearms. The school and club teams train young people in the Olympic rifle events. New shooters begin with a Sporter gun shooting 3 position air. Advanced shooters have full equipment and shoot precision and small bore guns competing around the country in International Air and 3 position small bore.

Re: 2021 Intercollegiate Rifle Club Championships
Has ASSA "taken this over" from the NRA?
If yes - fantastic!!! The Intercollegiate Rifle Club Championships in the past have allowed many of my shooters to continue and thrive in the AR & SBR sports.
My first shooter to take advantage of this program was my oldest daughter, now 29 yo, had turned down two very, very nice offers (and one OK offer) from 3 different NCAA teams to stay in the state and marry her husband a bit out of high school.
Daddy was a bit bummed, but she competed in the Club championships and had a great time going and shooting.
Again - I'm very enthusiastic that this program continues. Thank you ASSA!

Re: 2021 Intercollegiate Rifle Club Championships
Once it become clear the NRA had, once again no plans to run the Intercollegiate Club Rifle Championships, the ASSA was asked to sponsor the Championship. The leadership met to discuss the who, what, when, where and how last Friday and again on Sunday.
We finalized most of the items on our agenda and made the decision to make a coordinated announcement via email, shooting forums, and social media. Shortly, some of the key items will be finalized and an official match program will be released and the match will be open for entries.
We hope it will be well received by the Club teams and individuals. With the X-Count, we are certain we can run a first class event worthy of a National Championship.
Please spread the word.

Thanks Mike - I will.
I'm sold on the program.
I just ant to give a shout out to Tori who did this for the NRA for many years until they cut this off at the knees.
Forward with ASSA!
