Using Megalink target system?

I have been focusing on the front sight before raising my pistol to shoot in SP, CF & RF as recommended by Skanaker, works well for turning targets and audio set ups.
I used the Megalink system in Calgary for the first time and found myself having to look at the target area to see the lights to change from red to green then raising the pistol and focusing on the sights, not working well for RF & CF rapid.
What technique works best with light systems?
Also found the signal lights very bright, do you just get used to this?
