Feinwerkbau P8X won't cock

Hi,

My Feinwerkbau P8X air pistol won't cock. Yesterday it was working fine but today when I took it out for training it would no longer cock.

Can you help me fix it?

I'm competing at RIAC in Luxembourg next week and don't have a backup gun.

The 2 trigger screws accessible in front of the trigger from the bottom of the trigger guard are probably the issue.
One sets 1st stage weight, the second sets the "trigger release distance". Unscrewing it too far to get a short trigger pull
can be overdone resulting in the sear not catching during the cocking action. When set really "tight", it also seemed to be temperature sensitive and as things cooled off, it wouldn't cock, Another thing I noticed is the need to pull the cocking arm all the way to
the mechanical stop when cocking it, you can short stroke the cocking motion if you do not feel contact with the stop and that in itself may also pe problematic. I found this in my P44 and the P8x trigger is the same. I cock the gun by pinching the cocking lever between my index finger with my thumb on the gun somewhere comfy so I can feel it hit the cocking stop without I overdoing things. Personally, I set a very long first stage with minimal weight so I can feel the release point cleanly and sort of sit on it until I break the shot. I find the trigger a bit difficult to communicate with if the 1st stage is too short...... Hope this is your issue since its simple to fix....

Is there a link to an exploded parts drawing for this pistol that anyone has come across? The FWB site doesn’t show one and nothing comes with the pistol. Thanks

I heard back from Feinwerkbau support and they helped me solve it. The absorber had rotated because I was packing the pistol without the safety plug. Now I know that I always have to use it!
