That is a great question! I am sure the answer will depend entirely on who you ask. I would guess it also depends on how competitivly you shoot. For me, being complete novice wannabe standard pistol shooter, I find that PMC scoremaster is fine. It shoots well in my pardini sp and is under $140 a case. buy a brick and give it a try. It is priced right but if your gun does not like it... who cares.
also, Don Nygord has some strong feelings on this subject. Go read his articles on the subject and you may just decide to shoot the best.
good luck and have fun

My Walther GSP likes Aguila SE (Super Extra) which, dispite the name, is standard velocity. At $99 per case plus shipping from Cole Distributing, it may not be the least expensive but should come close.

: BTW, @ Coles you can buy it buy the brick at just about the same price . Shipping is about $1.50/ brick regardless of quantity. The std velocity shoots in most guns . The subsonic is a little more selective but great in many match guns.

Not so on shipping prices

Post by Rodm »

Not so on the shipping. I tried a brick before commiting to a full case. Cost $10 to ship the brick and about the same to ship the case. I found that it worked fine in my IZH and 41. I must admit that I haven't bench tested it or put it on a rest. Has anyone out there?
BTW I am attaching the URL for Cole's.

Rod:
I use it in my Pardini and it shoots as well as Eley (yellow) Target Pistol. I haven't bench tested it, but my bullseye scores are the same with both ammos. The difference in the Pardini is that the Aguila requires a drop of oil on the top round in the magazine for reliable functioning, and the Eley does not.

I guess I should clarify. My intent was to say that you don't need to order a case to get economy. Brick/case prices are near identical per round costs. Shipping likewise. This year I've ordered as few as 7 bricks or as many as 5 cases/ order. Shipping always came out to $1.50/brick +/- 10 cents. I'm sure there is some lower limit. If memory serves , there may even be a minimum buy.
