Trigger Overtravel Adjustment

Post by mhampel »

It seems to me that my trigger has too much over travel. But I have no idea what the recommended amount is.
Can anyone help?

Personal preference. Some like a lot, some like none. Set it to suit how it feels best to you.

Lots or non seem common. There have been a few discussions on this subject, and received wisdom is that you don't want the trigger bumping to a stop while the bullet is travelling down the barrel.

Hi Tim,

I've always wondered about that. It seems the bullet is only in the barrel for two or three thousandths of a second. Can anyone move their finger to the stop that quickly? Can you point me to a thread where this is discussed? I can't find anything that relates overtravel with chamber to muzzle bullet exit time.

Thanks,

Gerry
