grip for latest lp 10 compact evo

Post by rajemessage »

hi,

I heard there are a couple of grips available for the lp 10 evo compact.

Please tell me which grip can take my hand/fingers more nearer to the trigger.( when compared to each other)
that is towards the centre of the barrel.

What I feel the grip which has more cut near the thumb that one can take my hand/finger near to the trigger.

yours sincerely

Why not just take a file to your current grip, rather than buying grips that may not be any better.

If that doesn't work for you, THEN start thinking about other grips.

Most (all?) of the Steyr air pistols produced in recent times have a serious problem for shooters with short fingers and/or small hands. The metal plate in the grip that the angle adjustment screws contact adds depth and width to the cutout in the wood. The block that the trigger rod sticks forward from has several adjustment screws embedded in it, and that sticks forward a bit. The combination means you can remove too much wood in the back, and you can't move the trigger very far to the rear.

My wife has small hands, and even with a Rink extra small grip, the only way she can come close to a proper reach to the trigger is to remove the trigger shoe entirely. She shoots by pressing on the block behind the trigger. I need to remove the metal plate in the grip & replace it with a thinner one, and then I might be able to make a trigger shoe that clamps onto the rod in front of the trigger to get things about right.

Making a trigger that clamps in front of the trigger is quite a simple task and is good 5mm saving. Use 1.5mm brass sheet for the trigger blade and solder it to a round brass collet / boss with a locking screw this slides onto the rail. Attack the corners of the web area under the rear sight with a file or rotary die sander and blend in, this helps too but watch it as it is easy to go through.
