Re: Daisy 747 construction?
I read a Review online where the reviewer compared a 777 to a 747, the 777 was a heavier pistol. This makes perfect sense with the solid wood grips and steel rear sight however said reviewer thought that after Daisy dropped the 777 they also changed the Piston tube from brass to steel on the remaining 747 and 717....I have my doubts about this. Does anyone have a black handle (Late model) 747? If so, is the Inside of the Piston tube brass or steel? Thank you!
Re: Daisy 747 construction?
Howdy..
My 747 I picked up unboxed from a gunstore in Oklahoma, so I don't know the manufacturing date, BUT it has a black anodized STEEL Piston Tube.

Ok!...thank you!....I am just sure my brown handled 717 was brass inside the Piston tube, but that was more than 25 years ago, I could be forgetful on my blood pressure meds.
I guess it does not matter, brass would be corrosion resistant but a little more easy to damage so I am not sure what material would be more desirable.
