Walther KK200

Post by yana »

Looking at a Walther KK200. With grey laminate stock. Standard version.
Are they as good as the later KK300s?
Its stated as a KKM for sale but I believe the KKM is much older model than this one?
Any weak points to look for?
Would it be an upgrade for my KK100?
I also saw a KK300 anatomic for sale, but thats in another country so a lot of hassle and 3 times the price of this KK200

Yep, that's a KK200 Universal, the ISU Standard version. The KK200 is similar to the KK300, but there are some mechanical differences. I believe the bolts are identical, but the KK200 receiver is about 2mm shorter at the top. KK200 receivers are split on the left to clamp the barrel (like an Anschutz 2013), but KK300 (and some later 200s?) have a solid receiver and the barrel is secured with epoxy. Triggers are different too.

Kk200s can shoot. I think Guy Starik and Artem Khadjiebekov used KK200s not 300s, and won a few medals between them. I don't know if the taller solid KK300 receiver makes any difference, but I suspect few will notice.

Regarding the sale description, I believe the earliest Kk200s were branded KKM200s.

I just got a KK200, the aluminum stock version, and took it to the range yesterday to sight it in. Wow, what a wonderful and accurate rifle. I have had a 1813SM and a KK300 Anatomic and I think for the money, this KK200 is fantastic. I think you will be very happy with that rifle.
