who are overall better shooters, rapid fire vs 10m

Post by seamaster »

Who are over all better shooters?

There seems to be a few high power rapid fire shooters who do well in the 10M arena, but not that many world class 10M shooters who do well in the rapid fire range (Nestruev more for diversion)

Any food for thoughts?

Air Pistol will teach you how to shoot (Sights, Trigger, Follow through), Rapid Fire is just doing it a lot faster......

If you can do it fast you probably can do it slowly. It is harder the other way.
And yes, l know there are some RF shooters that don't use any kind of trigger control.

Doesn't everyone just shoot everything?

Only if you want mediocrity.

Very few shooters can shoot everything well.

After over two years of exasperation from my training mentor telling me to get hold of an LP50 and take up rapid fire to improve my 10m trigger technique I finally got round to it and got hold of one. All I can say it is revelation and it has underscored my coaches analysis that I'm taking too long and thinking too much and not being instinctive. All I've got to do now is rewire my head to just pull the trigger and mean it.
