Shooting Blogs

Post by Mark Dennehy »

Okay, this was an idea I had to try to encourage and assist our newer shooters in the club, but I thought the idea was useful enough to share. We've all seen the documentaries following olympic athletes in rowing or whatever, as they go through training and competition. They do a lot of good for those sports, but we don't have any fulltime athletes in olympic shooting disciplines here, so we couldn't get a documentary like that made, even as a book - but thanks to the internet, you can have your own diary put up online in a weblog (or blog).
So far, I've not found any target shooters keeping blogs, so this might actually be a new idea!
Anyway, I've started a training weblog myself, and I'm hoping to get our club squad to do the same - that is, to have one weblog that all the shooters in the squad write to, as well as the squad coaches and so on.
Take a peek, let me know if you have any good ideas...

Great idea

I'll definitely be a frequenter. It is an immeasurably valuable motivator to see other people going through the same things that you are while trying to achieve similar goals.
Best of luck--blooging's a whole discipline in itself ;)

It would be useful if type of shooting was stated.
