Difference between FAS 604 & 6004?

Ive had the 6004 pistol and liked it, but never owned a 604. I was wondering if there's anything glaringly better about the earlier 604 pistols, over the newer 6004's? Sold the 6004 and before I replace it, I was maybe going to look around for a clean 604. Pyramyd Air has the 6004's brand new for $419.00. Admittedly I don't compete and it would be for informal plinking and practice.
Anyone have had both and can make a distinction?

You can get the 6004 for $368 at Airguns of Arizona. Also with the adjustable grip for $515.

For that money you could get a great used CO2 gun.

Not wanting to wander into the CO2 world just yet. Thanks for the AOA tip. I would go through them should I want a 6004 for sure..guess the toss up is between the MK2 604 and the new 6004.
Anyone have any input between these two pistols?

You might want to get your hands on the new SIG Super Target. It has the lineage of the 604/6004 and is also made by Chiappa in Italy.

There have been some long threads here discussing the FAS 6004. Search for them. I think you'll find a fair number of comments that can be summarized as (borderline) junk. The 604, if you can find one, is a high quality machine which may not quite measure up to the FWB 100 series, Pardini K58, etc. but without obvious flaws. Maybe think of it as an Izh 46 with nicer fit & finish and lower weight. Somebody else will have to write about 604 parts availability.

I've got both and my 6004 is much better made & finished than the 604 - which exhibits cottage-made quality....

pardon my butting in, but for the money you are talking about spending a FWB 65 would do fabulously.
