Hi- I have been seriously entertaining the purchase of a fwb 603 for general use and some semi serious target use. I have used airguns for years and have a fwb model 80 and know the quality of fwb. I guess I wanted to know if it is worth getting a 603 at this time of airgun development. I would think it to be even better than the fwb 300's that seem to have a cult following in the sporting use arena. Do you like em' if ya' have one? Thanks for the time and God Bless-paul

FWB 603 worth having ?

Well the 603 is a SSP, so it does not have the vibration and motion that the 300 has. And the "lock time" is faster as well. These contribute to greater accuracy. I have a 300 just to play with the old rifle. For more serious target shooting I pull out my P70-jr.

Re: FWB 603 worth having ?
The 603 is every bit as good as any other olympic class rifle but you just need to cock it between shots. I went from a fwb 600 to an ans. 2002ca mostly because I wanted to be able to shoot other positions in winter. The SSP rifles do have the advantage of not having to mess with all the related filling stuff. Not that a scuba tank is a big deal but it is another expense. I'd suggest buying used. Most people nowadays are buying the precompressed rifles and there are some pretty good deals on the pneumatic rifles. Also, have a look at the fwb 600, 602, and ans. 2002's.

Pan Am gold medal winner used an FWB 601
Check the post below posted during the Pan Am Games.

Ladies gold medal winner used a 601. Would seem to indicate that while not currently the most popular choice a FWB 603 can certainly still be competitive.
