How do you fill a 125grm Co2 from bulk tank?

Post by Sunnyside Scott »

I have Tau-7 pistol and just got the fill adapter, I tried to get it filled at my local welding supply store, but I couldn't get the bottle to take gas. We turned a 10lb bottle upside down opened it up a little but still had no luck. Thanks in advance. SScott

The bottom line is you'll need to chill the 125 gram tank. I put mine in the freezer for 10min. Longer than 10min results in the 125g tank being over filled and I then need to bleed a little off. You might try bringing it to the welding shop in a little lunch type cooler with ice. Also, if the tank at the welding shop does not have a syphon tube (a tube that goes from the valve down into the liquid c02 in the tank) you will need to turn the supply (10 lb) tank upside down.

The freezer is the trick

15 minutes in the freezer, and mine fills just fine.
Make sure that you weigh it before and after, so that you don't over-fill it.
Same deal when you shoot - shoot two or three shots without a pellet to chill the internal tank.

Also, you have to know if your bottle has a filler tube. If it does ( as many generic/ industrial bottles do) them you DON"T want to turn it upside down. The trick is you want liquid, not gas filling transfering from the tank: I have Tau-7 pistol and just got the fill adapter, I tried to get it filled at my local welding supply store, but I couldn't get the bottle to take gas. We turned a 10lb bottle upside down opened it up a little but still had no luck. Thanks in advance. SScott
