Where have you been, on Mars?? Don't you know that shooting and shooters are a big no-no?? The first sport that goes from current schools is shooting---you know bad conditions in the range---lead---dust---way too expensive--- etc. etc.; don't feel safe knowing that there are students out there that know how to shoot and do it well. Specially in CA, the land on the left coast----you know wierdsville west of the big Mississippi. Shooting sports is disappearing from all sorts of colleges---including the US Merchant Marine Academy. Nuff said.

There are a few rifle shooters in Southern CA who fairly recently have received shooting scholarships for schools outside of CA ...
The UCLA Shooting Club has been fairly active under coach Cliff Halenar ... but he's going into retirement ... hopefully his protege will keep it up.
At our monthly USA Shooting air pistol PTO's we would regularily get around four UCLA shooters. The UCLA Shooting Club would get a good turn out when it advertised ... but most just wanted basic shooting instructions and would not go onto competative shooting.

I know one active team here in CA--the Univ of San Francisco (of all places). They compete regularly. Their coach is David Lee 415-422-2922, fax 415-422-2510 LEED@usfca.edu
