What does it take to train at the Olympic center?

Post by Leadbelly »

About 33 years ago, when a shooter made master, you could go to the
Olympic center for a week of training. I had 2 young kids and could not go.
I stopped shooting air pistol in about 1985 but started back November 2017.
Now I am 72 and classified as disabled in electric wheel chair. My local club
does not have much training for me and was wondering how or if I could go to the
USA Olympic training center for help. My last PTO, this month, was 527. I got my
Morini 162 in Feb this year and my scores are going up each month about 12 points.

I will also post this in the Olympic Pistol forum. The Moderators can delete the one
if in wrong place.

Thanks for any information.

1) Are you a member of USA Shooting?

If so then proceed to this link:
http://www.usashooting.org/11-resources ... procedures

There are not really any "Resident's" per se anymore ... but are "Facility Day Use Athletes".

USOC is trying to turn the OTC into a profit center by giving the rooms there to camps and such and some of the sports only have very limited usage of the dorms ... USA Shooting is one of the sports that most of the athletes have had to move off campus.

So look at the Facility Use Athlete form. As you compete, you may be able to then look at direct athlete support

Bob Foth is the Resident Athlete Coach and Armando Ayala is the Para coach.
