Assault rifles not protected by FIRST Amendment ????

Post by atomicgale »

Protester insists "Assault Rifles not protected by the FIRST Amendment." (Notice the purple sign in the pic provided.) Sorry, it's utterly unfathomable for me to take these people seriously.

How about: Education, safety, and training.

Or the NRA's: Knowledge, Skills, and Attitude.

When the Second Amendment was penned, assault rifles were commonly in the hands of the civilian populace and were superior in many ways to the arms used by the military of the time. They were known as Kentucky Long Rifles.

Probably talking about a federal appeals court ruling that upholds Maryland's recent ban on assault rifles last year...

I'm sure it'll be overturned if it ever makes it to SCOTUS, but they declined to rule on it, so the lower court's decision stands...
