FWIW: I took an old pair of clip on sunglasses (read cheap) and slightly abraided the lens after clipping off the undesired lens. Works well, lets enough light through and flips up out of the way for spotting, loading etc. If the patch thing is important and works this way, then invest if you want something "factory-made".
