Also,
even if you win and qualified to the team, I "believe" you need to have shot a 582 in AP for USAS to pay for your travel ticket and expenses.
otherwise, you certainly can go to represent the USA team but you have to pay on your own.
disappointed? yes I was,,, I think with a miracle, I can win the selection matches, say, if nobody shows up, but I am far far from shooting 582

The WCH selection match in September included 300m rifle. This is still a World Championship event. However, that was a WCH selection match and they didn't run Jr Sport, Centerfire or Free.
I don't know what they are thinking about for Spring.
