Wood stock for 3p ISSF match legal

Post by larry »

Hello

In the last ISSF rules change, I recall that some wood stocks wouldn't comply with the new rules.

I couldn't find it

Can any of you guys can confirm this?

Many thanks !

It's about the height of the back of the stock, not more than 140mm.

Indeed, some wood stock can't stisfy this rule, but check with your rules referent about the local application.
For example, in France, this rule is only applicable for aluminium stocks.

Please note the last sentence of ISSF rule 7.4.2.4:-
"The lowest point of the butt-stock, between the pistol grip and the butt-plate, may not be more than 140 mm below the center-line of the bore. This limit does not apply to wooden stocked rifles."

7.4.2.4 is for 300m & 10m.
Same rule for 50m is at 7.4.5 g)

Anyone know of a 50m rifle that does not comply with this?

I know the 10m 2002CA-Alu does not, but I cannot think of a metal stocked 50m rifle that has issues with this.

No, those are fine .. the "heel" of the buttplate mount clears the 140

Can you imagine what would happen if those were not legal? ... Athletes would have lynch squads out after them
