I would like to know the main differences between a 1050 and a Super 1050. I know that the Super can handle rifle cartridges. I am not interested in loading any rifle cartridges - only 45 ACP. I know that the 1050 is no longer made but if it was still made would you purchase a 1050 or Super 1050. That is all I need to know. I am not intersted in comparing these presses to a 550, 650, SDB or any other press - just 1050 vs Super 1050. Thanks so much to eveyone who takes the time out to answer me. I appreciate it.

Re: Dillon 1050 and Super 1050
You're right about the only difference (pistol only vs. rifles too).
I would go ahead and get the Super, if I were to buy one. As soon as you say "I ain't doing rifles", somebody is gonna give you a nice target rifle. (Been there, done that)
The main reason why I haven't bought a 1050 yet is the caliber conversion kits. I have a 650 and it costs right at $75 to convert calibers, including a new toolhead. You are looking at $95 just for a 1050 conversion and the toolhead is big bucks on top of that ($129).

Re: Dillon 1050 and Super 1050
I agree with Bruce. While I really, really want a 1050 Super I also have held off due to conversion prices (heads etc.)and I'm sure complications in the change over process from one caliber to another.
For now my 550B works just fine and gives me extra $$ for another new gun :-).
