1413 cheek piece upgrade question

Post by esepulveda »

Hi, I want to upgrade the cheek piece of my 1413 stock, for a more flat and adjustable one. For that I think I'll have to carve some wood and install a new 2-round column 30mm cheek carrier, and then decide if I should buy the cheek piece holder and add a MEC or HRO-TEC Cheek piece, for up to the millimeter adjusts or just go straight to a Anschutz laminated cheek piece with includes both the wood and columns.

Does anyone has any experience in such stock modification or can suggest an alternate method / parts, to replace the round cheek and gain some adjust ability?

I though about buying a 1918 precise stock, but they don't offer it in my favorite color. ;)

Saludos

This would be ideal to be able to install, but need the columns base, would it fit?

This could be a one cheek/base solution

MEC and other cheek pieces need this part as base, I guess

Edgar,

There is not enough wood under the original 1413 cheekpiece to add the 2213-type carrier (your pics 2 and 3). I think you would need to fill the gap from the 1413 hardware with wood first.

You can remove the wooden top from the 1413 cheekpiece. I think the MEC or Tec-Hro would fit the 1413 bracket, maybe with a spacer.

Thanks for the idea Tim, this way the wood wouldn't have to be modified and just have to create an interface between both.
