Are you talking about the Edelmann targets? Or are you talking about the paper used in the Suis Ascor scoring systems?

Edelmann targets use their own very specialized paper which features very short fibre length. There is no name for this paper - it's unique to the production of targets, and its recipe is somewhat guarded. A local target supplier (Cibles Canada Targets - www.targets.ca) has worked for several years to develop a paper suitable for targets. Airgun targets are the most difficult to produce because of the need to produce perfect round holes with very low projectile velocity. This isn't a paper one can just buy at the local paper supplier by referring to it as "thick kraft" or "manilla envelop stock". Sorry, wish it were easier than that, but it's not!

"regular" paper can be made more brittle by carefully baking it at low temperatures ... but it really isn't worth the effort ... just buy Edelman targets and support your airgun dealers ...

The generic name is tag board for targets such as Edelmann. The advantage is that holes are punched with more definite edges than with, say, newsprint.
