NY Times Article on the "Yips"

Hi,
This mornings NY Times on line website has an interesting but inconclusive article on the problem of "golfers Yips" ie the inability to make a small controlled movement during putting, resulting in a wild putt.
I believe that I had the same basic problem trying to get a shot to break while shooting my AP. I literally had difficulty hitting the pellet trap, much less the target.
The only way I broke the cycle was to start shooting with the other hand. Is this problem as common in shooting as in golf?
