Anschutz Match 54.30

Post by Rhysatkins »

Has anybody had any experience with one, are they actually available yet?

If so what are peoples thoughts worth the extra bucks?

Im quite a small shooter and the loading port placement really interests me as its much cheaper than the kk500 or a bleiker.

It's only "much" cheaper if you get one with a 1907 wooden stock.
Recently the Anschutz website displayed 54.30's in a wider variety of stocks
including the old super-match wood stock. Not sure about the price on that
but it should be less than an alu-type stock.

The KK500 comes with sights which account for about 1/8th of it's cost
and a sturdy carry case with cleaning kit and a few extras. If it's a metal stock
than the KK500 cannot be beat on straight value vs the 54.30.
I could be wrong but I believe the Anschutz comes with no sights
or case.

The KK500 loading port is very comfortable to use with minimal movement.
Only thing is when shooting timed or rapid fire events you will need to
develop a better technique for rapid loading without the cartridge flipping
out the exposed dual opened loading port. I have figured that out ( use your thumb! )

I had to choose between the KK500 and 54.30 and the Walther was my choice.
I bought mine in July. Amazing rifle, super accurate and no regrets.

I was lucky to get one the first shipped to the US last spring. Very accurate rifle; no reason to hang a tuner on the end shooting Midas or Center X. I have long arms so the loading port didn't change my technique. I like the precise stock other than it not being designed for extra stock weights. Instead I went to an old fashion stabilizer. Either that, or 300 miles of kayak racing this year, improved my hold.

Great; must be new. It will work with the weights off my 2213 stocks. I''ll check with Carl and Todd to see if they are in stock. It will be interesting to see if the stabilizer is helping the hold more than these weights. I "loaned" a pair of weights to a friend one year. He turned around and won the state championship.

Thanks,

Mark
