Anschutz 1903 action screws

Post by PaulB »

I just purchased a used, but relatively new production, Anschutz 1903. I found the barreled action to be loose in the stock and went to tighten it and found that the action screws were not the Allen head screws that I have found on all recently made Anschutz rifles. They appeared to be Torx but none of my drivers fit them because the 6 star points on the screws seem very narrow. Does anyone know what tool fits these screws?

My experience is limited to maybe 6 older 54' s, but I believe these would be aftermarket screws. They are rather hard to fit for length, so might be too long.

I use the HEX bit that came with my Anschutz torque wrench. It will fit in a normal driver. The manual says to torque the action bolts to 5.0 NM.
