anschutz trigger

Post by jim »

I have enjoyed my 1423for years. The trigger has always been light and smooth as silk. It now feels rough and with a variable pull. I suspect it just got dirty (I have never cleaned the trigger). Is there something easy and safe that I can do, or do I need to take it to a gunsmith? Thanks, Jim

Pull the action out of the stock and soak the action and trigger (assembled is ok) in a can of solvent such as mineral spirits for a day or 2. I stand mine up in a coffee can of solvent. Lean the barrel into a corner or the corner of a partially opened desk or dresser drawer so it won't fall over. Brush off any gunk with an old toothbrush and blow out any residue or solvent from the innards. Re-lube and try it.
